A gritty New Adult drama about a young woman’s self-destructive quest to find purpose, self-worth, and love in a broken world.

My name is Elise Duchamp. I’m twenty-three years old and I’m known as the town whore.

No, not the kind who exchanges sexual favors for money. The other kind. The kind who gives it all away for free, whenever and however she likes. I am that girl. The one everyone whispers about and the one none of the girls seem to like, because all of their boyfriends either want to sleep with me or already have. Promiscuity is my thing—the kind that slowly, violently turns my insides black, but gives me something I need.

All things considered, I’m not completely reckless. I’m safe, and contrary to popular opinion, I do have a heart. I live in a world of careless choices, and with those choices come careless people. I cannot judge them, because I am one of them. I too bow down to the altar of the self-serving. I am not a good friend. I am not and never could be anyone’s girlfriend. I’m convinced any goodness in me shriveled up and died long ago.

But I am a replacement. That is something I know how to be, and this is a story of the lengths I’d go to in order to keep it that way.

The Replacement was a very emotional and tragic love story.. but one I will never forget.  I would give this book a 5 star. It is told in one POV of Elise.  It is a love story but not and easy insta love, it will take time and many twists and turns to finally get to and HEA, but thank goodness there is one!

Elise lives her life the way she wants too, she was very sheltered as child into her teen years.  Her mother always told her that her beauty would be the only thing she will ever need in life.  Her father was an abusive ass hat to her and her mom. So when she finally moves away from the darkness of her family she finds her self sleeping around with any man that is taken, yes involved.  It gives her rush to know she can turn other families upside down..she should care..but she doesn't.. her life is black whole and it will never change.

I ponder that- my dignity-- as Tim fumbles around in the bathroom.  It's something I think about often.  The whole town seems to think I'm in short supply of it, because I sleep around.   What they don't realize, though, is I've found my own sort of dignity.  It just doesn't match up to their standards.  I find self-respect in owning up to what I am and not bullshitting anyone about it.  Honesty is self-respect in my book.  Granted, I'm deceptive.  But if you flat-out asked me if I've deceived you, I'd never bullshit you about it.  That's gotta count for something.--- ELISE

She doesn't do love or relationships or even friends.  She throws herself into the endless meaningless sex.  But when Christian one of the married men she is with starts to show more feelings and wanting more she will shut him down. Then she meets a sexy new man Ryder.. but one problem he isn't attached so it would never work.  But she finds herself feeling more for him than she should.  But when she starts to pull away from him he will try everything to bring her back in.  Will he be able to finally tame her enough to have a real relationship?

He studies me for a moment but doesn't respond, only deepens his kiss.  I cave into him, letting him devour me whole.  I don't know what I can give him.  I don't know if I have anything at all.  But I do know that Ryder Jacobson is trouble. The good kind.--- ELISE

Ryder has his own demons he deals with but when he meets Elise he can't help but be drawn to her.. and not just her beauty..there something about her he can't resist.  He knows he should tell her about his secret but he is finally enjoying being with her and her finally accepting that he can be what she needs.

His gaze travels down to my mouth and a ghost of a smile traces his lips before her hesitantly leans in.  He stares for another beat before he kisses me, and the second I feel his warmth, I sink into him, breathing deeply. "You're still a little piece of heaven, baby," he pants against my mouth, "even if your halo's broken."

When secrets are revealed and past indiscretions blow up in Elise's face can these two pick up the pieces or will it destroy them?  Or will Elise push him away again to protect him and her?

Pick up this book ASAP!  I didn't want to give to much away with my review but there is so much more to this story and you need to buy it to find out.  You will love Ryder, Bradley and Christian!  Well I know I did!  I was so happy to read The Prisoner which is a little novella that tells you Christian's side of the sorrid story.  He was a big part in The Replacement and I am glad I got to see his POV and his thoughts.
Read below for my short and sweet review of The Prisoner.

***THE PRISONER is a novella (approx. 25,000 words) intended to be read
AFTER The Replacement. Contains explicit material and language.***

My name is Christian Walker, and Elise Duchamp is my drug of choice.

No matter how hard I try to break the habit, it’s a lost cause. Okay, maybe I haven’t really tried to quit this particular habit. All I can think about is owning her. Making her mine. Can you really blame me? With that sinful body, luscious mouth, and wicked tongue, she’s every man’s dream, and she knows it.

No one is immune to her charm, not even me, a man who has everything—a beautiful wife, an office with a view, and more money than most people can spend in one lifetime. Only I know how to make her toes curl. Only I know her body better than the other men she screws in her free time. None of them can compare to me.

But the joke is on me. I’m the prisoner.

The one who will never compare to him. The one man who makes me see red. His name is stored in her cell phone. It’s the first one she calls out to, the first one she cries for when all hell breaks loose. Ryder Jacobson.

The name makes me cringe.

She loves him, and I love her. In my own way, I always will. But the bad guy doesn’t always belong with the bad girl. Sometimes the bad girl needs a good man to believe in her, to give her that final push toward ultimate transformation. I wish I was that good man. That I could be her happily ever after. I guess that’s the thing about prisoners, though. They’re left alone with their torment, and in the end, they have no one to blame but themselves.

The Prisoner was a short Novella about Christian one of Elise's hook ups.  I would give this book a 4 star! Even though its a short quick read it was fantastic!  It is Christians POV of how he met Elise and there sordid affair.

Christian is married and once he was very happily married but his marriage has turned to nothing but hello's and goodbye's.  He is a very dominant male and he can't have that fantasy with is wife so he turns to Elise the beautiful sexy waitress.  He knows what she does but he is determined to make her his and help heal the hurt and pain he see's in her eyes.

She's no longer dirty. She's clean.  She tried to tell me, but I didn't want to hear it.  She tried to escape my dark world, but I continued to lure her back in, continued to perpetuate the cycle.  How can an angel fly when her wings are clipped?  How can she be free when the thin line between love and obsession are blurred, distorting her path?

When he realizes he has fallen for Elise he will promise her the world.  But unfortunately for him she has already found her one true love and it isn't him.  So he has to set her free.

As those final words are exchanged between us, I release my golden angel to her former lair.  The one she's fallen from.  I lover her dirty, loved her raw. But that's the thing about that fine line between love and obsession.  It's what distinguishes shes one from the other, the little piece that tells us what's really what and which one is just an illusion.

Now that Christian has set Elise free and his wife (well you have to read the book to find out what happens with the wife) is out of the picture he has to pick up the pieces of his life.

Until someone else comes along and shows me how to love again.  Shows me something real.  And I'm no longer a prisoner.  I'll be the one unlocking steel bars.
It'll be my turn to set the prisoner free.

You will love him and want to take away his pain.  Go get this book ASAP!
