Release Week Event, Reviews, & Giveaways: The Next Sin by Georgia Cates

An epic tale of revenge and love in a new romantic trilogy from the New York Times best-selling author of The Beauty Series.

Bleu MacAllister is in hiding less than three months when Sinclair Breckenridge discovers her whereabouts. Her former lover, the future leader of a criminal organization known as The Fellowship, resists the tug of his heart heartstrings in her direction. Instead, he opts to watch over his beloved from afar. And she has no idea. But Sin's sacrifice is short-lived. His bonny lass is a hunted traitor. He fears Abram's assassins are closing in, leaving him with one solution for saving Bleu--make her his wife. Marriage seems an easy fix for their dilemma but wedded bliss is brief when the couple finds trouble lying in wait beyond the realm of the brotherhood. Will the original revenge seeker find herself the object of collateral damage?

Bleu’s POV
I touch the screen. I stroke my finger down his face but it feels nothing like the real thing. I close my eyes so I can imagine the way his scruff felt against my skin.
He rarely grew what I would call a beard. He always kept his facial hair short and scruffy. And I loved it, especially when he would drag his face down the center of my body just to hear me squeal. But the best was when he’d push the crotch of my panties aside and rub his chin up and down between my legs.
“Holy shit, Bleu. That’s him, isn’t it?” I jerk when I hear Ellison’s voice over my shoulder. “That’s the man you were with in Scotland.”
I’m so stupid. I can’t believe I’ve allowed her to sneak up and catch me looking at this photograph. I was preoccupied. That’s my only excuse.
Ellison has interrogated me nonstop about my relationship with Sin. I’ve been vague. She’s on a need-to-know-only basis. That means I haven’t told her shit. But I want to. I need someone to tell me this excruciating pain in my heart is going to ease.
“Yes.” That’s my Breck. My admission feels like a ton of bricks lifted from my shoulders.
“Damn. That is one hottie Scottie.”
“I know.” I sigh as I prop my chin in my hand. I look at the handsome face of the only man in this world besides my father who has been willing to take me the way I am.
Two men. Both know the darkness I carry inside. But they love me anyway.
I’ve lost one. I’m losing the other. And it’s killing me.
“My God, Bleu. Look at the way he’s holding you … like you’re his everything. I don’t know how you walked away from him.”
You’d be surprised by the things you can do when you’re staring death in the face.
“My job was over.”
“You haven’t told me anything about it. Or him. Was it good?”
I recall the words he used to describe what being together was like for him. “The best ever.”
“You don’t think you’ll see him again?”
“No.” I won’t if I want to continue to live.

I was anxious to get my greedy fingers on this book. The first, A Necessary Sin was full of everything I like in a story. It had a dynamic plot, angst, deceit, passion, trouble, family intrigue, betrayal… I could go on and on. The cliff was devastatingly AWESOME! If you haven’t jumped into this series yet you are missing out on something delicious. Something epic. Something unforgettable. Book 2 is just as brilliant.

It picks up soon after Bleu finds herself back in the States nursing a broken heart, with her ailing father and sister. She knows her life will never be the same for so many reasons. It doesn’t make the pain any less or the potential danger. We discover that someone is tracking her whereabouts. Could it be the one she left in a compromising position?

“Did you really think you could blow into my life like a breeze and roll out like a stone?” Sin

“I look at the handsome face of the only man in this world besides my father who has been willing to take me as I am.” Blue

Bleu and Sinclair share a short but intense history. It’s tangled, messy and precarious. They need to be careful with who they trust and watch their steps. They have obstacles and responsibilities that hinder their life. How they deal is what makes this book exciting and gripping. This is a web that keeps growing by the chapters. I can’t wait to see how it all unfolds in the next and final book One Last Sin. I am invested in Sin and Blue’s journey. They may have part of a Happily Ever After but being in the fellowship makes it challenging and unpredictable.

Georgia Cates is an outstanding writer. I adore her and her fascinating mind.

The Next Sin, book two in the Sin Trilogy by Georgia Cates, was an exciting and amazing continuation of the unique love story between Bleu McAllister and Sinclair Breckenridge that has this reader yearning for more as I turned the last page of the book. I need the next book yesterday because I have to know what else is in store for this couple! Georgia Cates has done it again with this amazing series and this was a 5 star read for me and I recommend that you drop what you are reading now and start this series immediately because you will not be disappointed!

Bleu has returned to the States in order to protect herself from Sinclair's uncle Abram and his quest to kill her after discovering that she was a former FBI agent that infiltrated The Fellowship in book one. Spending every day with her dying father, she often thinks of Sinclair and the love that she found with him despite the circumstances for the start of their relationship; her avenging the murder of her mother at what she believes was by his father Thane's hand. Sinclair has been keeping close tabs on Bleu, worried for her safety as well as missing the love of his life. Watching her from afar for weeks; he finally approaches her one night after she returns home and tell her that he has a solution to the Abram problem; proposing to her without flair and without a ring. Knowing that the bond of marriage and family is the most sacred of things in The Fellowship; Sinclair believes that with Bleu as his wife; Abram will have to stop his quest to have her killed. Loving Sinclair for everything that he is and everything that he stands for as the future head of The Fellowship; Bleu agrees to be his wife after careful consideration.

Sinclair; although a criminal hidden behind the immaculate suits of a lawyer, does what he believes is the honorable thing and goes to Bleu's father for permission to marry her; infuriating Bleu to no end. Knowing that it is something Bleu needs as well as making their marriage feel right in his eyes, Sinclair and Bleu have the blessing of the little family that she has left. Sinclair stays by his Bonny's side during the last days of her father's life and through his funeral; knowing that their marriage with her father and sister present are memories that she can carry with her forever.

Although Bleu struggles with leaving her sister behind, knowing that she can never reveal the truth of who Sinclair's family is, she needs to be with her husband, her love, helping him to become the leader that The Fellowship so desperately needs. Falling into her role as the leader's wife comes easily to Bleu with the help of Sinclair's mother who adores her. It is only when a rival group ambushes some of Sinclair's men that things become distressing for both of them, each struggling in their own way.

And the cliff hanger! What are you doing to me Georgia Cates??!! How could you leave me hanging like that? I tried to continue to turn the page after I read the last sentence thinking that I could magically make more pages appear in this story that has captivated me from the very first sentence! Again this series is fantastic and I highly recommend it to all.

I was a huge fan of the first book in the series A Necessary Sin and was excited to read the second book in the series The Next Sin. But for me, this one fell a little flat compared to the first.  I love an alpha male and Sin just seemed more dominate in the first book and now that love is in the air he became softer and I think I still wanted him being the dominate male that he is.  This is a great series and I did enjoy both books.  I am curious on how things are going to play out in the last book.  I have my theories and can’t wait to see how they play out.
We last left Sin learning the truth about Bleu but he’s in love and will stop at nothing to get her back.  Even if the truth of her past goes against the Brotherhood. He will stop at nothing to make her his. There is only way to protect her and her family and I didn’t expect this little twist in the plot.  For Sin, women have always been disposable to him.  Bleu is the only one who has captured his heart and he will do any and all things to make sure she is his.
Bleu spent years studying Sin and his habits and the last thing she expected was to fall for him.  With her Father on his death bed and her life taking a turn she never expected, she must do what is right to protect her and her sister from those who will try to kill them.  When she agrees to Sin’s plan she is taken back to Scotland and assumes a role she never dreamed of. Will she be able to fit or will she just be the outsider?  She is able to find an ally in an unlikely place and with this she is able focus on her finding her Mother’s killer.  She is determined to find the person responsible but when a promising lead turns up as a dud, another threat appears that may cost her more than her thirst for revenge.
The ending is a thriller that will have you on the edge of your seat waiting for the next book!  Georgia Cates has always been on my radar as this is the first series from her I have read.  She has a way of pulling you into the story that was full of suspense.  I would rate this one 3 ½ stars.  I think if Sin didn’t lose some of his appeal to me it would have been a 4 star read.

Well for starters I have to say this was the best and worst cliffhanger I have read in a very long time! Georgia Cates you have gutted me with this ending and I just about hyperventilated begging for more and say WTF noooo it can't end that way!   So with that being said I will be waiting not so patiently for the next installment in this series.  The Next Sin is the second book in the The Sin Trilogy you need to read these books in order they are not standalones.  A Necessary Sin was the first book and oh how wonderful it was as well!  I would give this book a 4.5 stars and would most definitely recommend to others.  This book is full of angst, mystery and steam!  I have so many unanswered questions and now even more after reading this one, but I have a feeling it will be worth in the end.

Bleu and Sin met in the first book when Bleu was pretending to be someone else so she could infiltrate the lives of the Breckenridge's to avenge her mothers murder, but that all backfired when her secret was found out.  The Next Sin will pick up with Bleu back in her hometown and trying to deal with her sister and her father who's illness has become deathly.  What she doesn't expect is for Sin to follow her because they way she left him he would have to be crazy to want to see her again or was he coming after her?  When he surprises her by telling her he came to her to protect her and love her she is taken back and doesn't know what to do.  The only thing on her mind is helping her father.  But when tragedy strikes and Sin is there for her through it all she will find herself saying yes to things she never thought she would and she will end up back in Edinburgh with a whole new life and new dangers to overcome. When life finally seems to be settling things will stir again, a blessing will happen, but with Bleu's stroke of luck going sour she will find herself fighting for her life because of a retribution against Sin's Fellowship.... Can they over come all of this and live a normal life or will there ever be a normal again for Bleu?? Can Sin find away to get to Bleu before the damage is done?

You have go to get this series, it will seriously keep you up all night because you will have to know what happens next!  Georgia Cates I do love your books just not sure how long I will be able to hold out waiting the most likely the biggest sin to come yet!  Thanks for a great journey so far and hurry puhhhllleeeeaassse!

Bleu MacAllister is consumed. A horrific childhood incident has caused every decision in her life to revolve around bringing a monster to justice. With years spent studying The Fellowship, an organized crime brotherhood of liars, thieves, and killers, Bleu will rely on her skills as a special agent to cut Thane Breckenridge off at the knees. But walking hand in hand with retribution means risking collateral damage, in the form of Breckenridge’s son Sinclair—until Sin becomes so much more than Bleu bargained for. She’s always known this undertaking would place her life in danger—she never imagined her heart would be as well.
